I guess this will have to serve as a “short & sweet” post. It is definitely not for lack of ambition, although as a retired old fart (I prefer young fart), you might think I have all the time in the world on my hands. Nope; oftentimes I get frustrated over not having enough time in the day to accomplish what I’d wanted. Weird, eh?
Some chunks of my time are taken up with the new book that I’m into, the third in a row since I resumed my writing during the pandemic. With the working title of Perils of the Bike Path, and a sub-title of A Jack Miller Senior Moment: Book Five, the comedy/science fiction story is the next in a series that began—a long, long time ago—with Bicycling Through Space and Time. It is also the direct sequel to Back on the Bike Path, the book I wrote while we were all quarantined.
I just passed the halfway point of the manuscript, and if the Great Spirit is willing and the creeks don’t rise, Perils of the Bike Path should be ready for public consumption in the first quarter of 2024. I hope you’ll enjoy more of Jack Miller’s crazy excursions along the cosmic tunnel on his alien-enhanced mountain bike.
