Last week being the second week in October, Jacqueline and I made our annual trip to Idyllwild, a mile-high town in Southern California’s San Jacinto Mountains. My bride’s birthday occurs during this time, and we’ve been driving up to Idyllwild for years to celebrate it at a cozy cabin in the pines. She would have it no other way, and for that matter, neither would I. We love the quiet, beautiful town, with its neat and quirky shops, and we both agree that we’ll be going there every October until the Mother Ship returns for us.
Rather than expend a lot of flowery prose describing Idyllwild, I’ll let these photos tell the story. Enjoy!
Of course you know I share in your love of this wonderful community! We were there right before Labor Day weekend. So glad we managed to work in a trip before we learned that we are moving out of state! But Idyllwild will always be in my heart (and in one of my novels!) ;0)
Indy, as you probably know, you’ll have lots of little mountain towns to visit in Washington state. Hopefully at least one of them will remind you of Idyllwild.
