Our hideaway in the woods.

Our hideaway in the woods.

A short post this week, as my bride and I have just returned from our annual “escape” to the mountains. Yep, a few days in our cozy Idyllwild cabin, located a mile high in the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California, can do wonders for the soul. I wrote about Idyllwild in a previous post. Check it out.

A NEW/OLD NOVEL

One accomplishment last week: the second sword & planet novel in my “World After Death” series, Caves of Maldrinium, went live on Amazon Kindle. The paperback version should be available within the next week. Originally released in the late ’70s as The Caves of Reglathium, my third published book, the totally rewritten story continues the saga of Dannus Erekwane, once known as Eric Wayne of Earth before his untimely death in the opening chapter of the first book, Warlord of Maldrinium.

CAVES_eBook_blurred_brightSo much for “rest in peace.” Depending on where you wind up, life after death can be a real challenge, as Eric Wayne discovered after being “reborn” on the world called Maldrinium, more specifically the deadly Tuelian Continent. Now called Dannus Erekwane, he and his new friends battled countless horrors on this planet of a dying sun.

But Dannus finds no peace in Caves of Maldrinium. Now settled on the benign Jennithusian Continent with his beloved Marana, he is asked to investigate strange disappearances in a once productive mine. While there, an accident plunges him many miles beneath its surface into a vast, bizarre cave world. The countless dangers to his own life are nothing compared to what Dannus soon discovers: the evil Vatrogs, rulers of this underworld, have developed the means to destroy all life on the surface, and they intend to carry out their plan. What can one man do to prevent this unspeakable act?

Two more “World After Death” novels will be published next year. But for now, enjoy Caves of Maldrinium.
